How will you fit in the big picture?
The Maintenance Technician keeps the production and packaging lines at our Hershey manufacturing
plant running. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical,
hydraulic, and pneumatic faults across a wide range of equipment, on a rotating twelve-hour shift
pattern covering days and nights, including weekends and holidays.
What will you do?
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and return lines to service quickly
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
- Document jobs and parts issues in the plant CMMS
- Support changeovers, setups, and allergen runs
- Apply lockout/tagout and follow GMP and food safety rules
- Use HMI and PLC fault information to diagnose line stoppages
Minimum Education & Requirements
- At least two years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Ability to use a multimeter
- Ability to use HMI and PLC fault information to narrow down a line stoppage
- Preferred: apprenticeship, trade qualification or technical school program in industrial
maintenance, mechatronics or electrical
Working conditions: on your feet for most of a shift; lift and carry up to 50 lbs; climb ladders
and stairs; work at height and in confined spaces; hot, cold, wet, noisy or dusty environments;
PPE provided and required.
